Hi. I’m Mandy
This picture was taken of me when I was relaxed. Really, really relaxed.
High a top Mt Major. Looking at the palette of fall colors spreading themselves before me.
A month later, I entered a job in software and stayed in the position for 6 years. I became so busy I forgot to send birthday cards. So I sent a text instead.
The guilt was crushing.
I love sending and receiving mail. I think I get it from my grandmother, Helen. Not a month would go by without something arriving in the mail box from her. Her gorgeous cursive script on the front of the envelope containing a card, a recipe or article she cut out of the paper because she thought I would enjoy it.
When she passed, I kept her address book. Now, it sits on my desk as a constant reminder to reach out. Not with a text or an email, but with a letter or a phone call. Make someone’s day a little bit better with real connection.
